Christmas in Upper Teesdale starts this Saturday (30th November) with the 7th Annual Christmas Fair at Middleton Auction Mart and the switch on of the Christmas lights. The Christmas Fair, organised by UTASS, runs from 10am to 2pm and features 50 stalls. There will be crafters, local traders and businesses as well as lots of local community groups. Entry is free and there is parking at the Mart.
After the Fair, walk up Bridge Street for The Christmas Lights switch on. It begins at 3.30pm with carol singing, mince pies, mulled wine, the grand raffle and the arrival of Santa. It’s all in the lower car park off the Village Green around the Christmas tree. Wrap up warm and come and join in.
The lights in 2015
After the switch on there is the Christmas Lights Switch on Party at the Social Club from 5pm until 8pm. A real family event, there will be a disco, party games, a free gift for every child, the raffle and tombola. It’s only £1.50 and all are welcome.
On Wednesday the 4th December it is the Friends of Middleton School’s Christmas Fair between 6pm and 8pm at the Primary School with gifts, decorations, food and drink, local crafts and Santa’s Grotto.
